C1 Corvette VIN Decoder

The Corvette C1 VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a unique alphanumeric code assigned to the first generation of Chevrolet Corvette sports cars produced from 1953 to 1962. This VIN is an identifier that contains specific information about the vehicle's production and history.

For all 1955 to 1959 Corvettes, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on the driver's side door post. In 1960, it was placed on the left door hinge pillar below the upper hinge. Late 1960 cars had the VIN next to the steering column, aft of the steering gear housing. For all 1961 to 1962 Corvettes, the VIN is stamped on the steering column in the engine compartment.
